It’s been a tough Monday for me. I’m sure others have had it worse, but finding focus has been extremely challenging.
The past three days were spent down on the riverfront at Bunbury Music Festival. A great event with awesome weather this year.
We were able to see a couple of our favorites as well as listen to some new music.
Crowds were okay Friday and Saturday, but Sunday it was packed with a variety of people enjoying the festival.
Today I am tired. Being in the heat for three days, having not-so-healthy food options and enjoying some adult beverages took a lot out of me.
All of these were MY choices this weekend. We plan to attend this event every year and have a great time.
The day after is rough and maybe not so productive. But, I have systems in place to get me back into normal routines quickly.
For me today, I need more rest. My back was a bit stiff from the walking and sitting in uncomfortable spaces this weekend.
I also had three healthy meals with a bunch of water today. Dinner was a delicious turkey burger patty, sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli.
After a good night of sleep, I’ll be back to normal again.
Some pre-planning we did to help us get through three days:
- good sleep each night with no early morning wake-up call; some rest at home before heading out for the day.
- healthy & hearty breakfast before we left.
- brought our own water bottles – they have water stations so there is no excuse not to drink water. I rotated water with each of my drinks.
Planning can take many forms when it comes to fitness and nutrition. Finding what works for you and for your family may take some work to figure out, but it will be worth it.
You can enjoy events that may not be setup to help you meet your goals, but with some planning you can adapt what your working with and be a little better than without the planning.
All of my critical tasks were completed at some point today. I also had a great early morning meeting that was productive despite my lack of focus.
Plan for your even as best as you can, execute that plan as best as you can…and then have fun regardless!!!
