Reading Labels – Part 1

As you begin your journey to better health, part of the process is taking control of what you eat and drink. The best options are real, unprocessed foods…lean proteins, veggies, fruits, smart carbs and healthy fats.

Completely eliminating processed foods may not be in the cards for all of us. Learning how to read a nutrition label so that you can make the best choice for you and your family is helpful.

Today we focus on the first part of a nutrition label. Look for items that are higher in protein and fiber, but lower in fat, sodium and sugar.

Pay attention to the serving size so you know the basis for the numbers.
