Today’s Habit is #6 – Eat Healthy Fats. 🥑🥜🌰

As you probably already know…fat makes food taste great!

We want to help clients move toward the ‘right fats’, not just eliminate fats from the diet.

What do fats do?

• Slows gastric emptying, keeping you fuller, longer.

• Found in every cell membrane so the right kinds keep your tubes lubed.

• Is the building block for many feel good and do good hormones.

Here are some recommendations for healthy fats:

• Butter

• Olives

• Avocado (including guacamole)

• Nuts such as almonds, Brazil, cashews, pistachios, etc.

• Nut butters such as almond, cashew, etc.

• Peanuts and natural peanut butter

• Seeds such as chia, ground flax, pumpkin, sunflower, etc.

• Oils such as olive oil, coconut oil, flax seed oil, hemp seed oil, and Omega-3 oils such as fish or algae

Yes these are healthier options, but you still need to watch portions. One thumb-sized portion for women and two thumb-sized portions for men is the starting guideline.

On Friday for 10 weeks, I will be introducing one of our top 10 habits. We work with clients to develop these habits slowly so that they work into their lifestyle. We all have different occupations, family situations, stressors, obligations, etc.

These habits are GUIDELINES that you adapt to fit your needs as you begin to develop them and incorporate them into your daily life.

I decided to go from #10 and count down to #1. Fitness and nutrition changes are tough enough, and then throw on all of the conflicting information and it’s even worse.

We try to cut through the noise and simplify the changes that can have the most impact.

I didn’t say it was easy to implement, but they are simple concepts to understand. We can help apply them to YOUR situation.
