Today’s Habit is #1 – Eat Slowly

Today we wrap up our Top 10 list. Eat Slowly is our first anchor habit. We call it that because it goes anywhere you go. No matter where you are, what you are served, or who is present; it’s there.

We’re giving you permission to be the BOSS of your own nutrition journey starting with the reins of Eating Slowly.

A central focus of our nutrition program at PeakFAST is to stay present and aware of your environment, tendencies, and challenges. By slowing down, you create abundant opportunity to make healthy choices.

As you eat, leisurely kick back and enjoy your food. Notice the tastes, textures, and satisfaction you derive from foods. Be curious as nutritious foods begin to taste better while many highly processed and refined foods appear to taste worse. Notice and name these experiences.

Last week #2 was to Eat to 80% Full…these two go hand in hand to help you take control of HOW you eat.

On Friday for 10 weeks, I will be introducing one of our top 10 habits. We work with clients to develop these habits slowly so that they work into their lifestyle. We all have different occupations, family situations, stressors, obligations, etc.

These habits are GUIDELINES that you adapt to fit your needs as you begin to develop them and incorporate them into your daily life.

I decided to go from #10 and count down to #1. Fitness and nutrition changes are tough enough, and then throw on all of the conflicting information and it’s even worse.

We try to cut through the noise and simplify the changes that can have the most impact.

I didn’t say it was easy to implement, but they are simple concepts to understand. We can help apply them to YOUR situation.
