Hi, I’m Jen Rizzo!

I’m a National Board Certified Health Coach that specializes in running to help women get healthy.

My goal is to help you lose weight and gain energy. I also focus on helping my clients start running with confidence. My programs are designed to give you the tools you need to be successful for the long term.
· No dieting.
· No calorie counting.
· No restrictions.
· No crazy running programs.
We are allies working toward your goals.
If you’re not a runner, that’s ok! I can either help you get started running or find an alternative exercise program that helps you meet your goals.

My Story

After 21 years in a corporate job I was ready for a career change. Working in technology my whole career, I didn’t know what was next for me. I took some time off to do some soul searching and started my own health & wellness journey.
Starting out I knew two things. One, I wanted to feel better and two, I wanted improve the chronic back pain I was living with. I started strength training and noticed an improvement. Then, I started learning more about nutrition. When I was ready, I added running as part of my exercise regime. I started to get stronger and I felt leaner. My body was changing and I was hooked!
The change I was able to accomplish made me realize I loved learning about nutrition and exercise. With that, I began my journey to becoming a Health Coach.

I Don’t Tell, I Teach

I want everyone to wake up feeling great and ready to tackle their day with as much energy and passion as possible.  When I work with a client, I don’t TELL them how to improve their health, I TEACH them.  What exactly does that mean?

You probably won’t hear this from every health coach, but I eat pizza, ice cream and might even have a beer on occasion.  You’re gasping I know!  I’m telling you this because I want you to understand my approach to health and wellness.  I’m never going to tell you can’t have something.  I don’t believe in calorie counting or living on a diet. I don’t believe in good foods or bad foods.

Instead I believe in having the tools to create balance.  I want you to be able to enjoy a treat but have the control to get back on track when you’re done.  It’s empowering when you don’t feel restricted but can still achieve your goals.  My practice is focused on improving your LEAN.  LEAN refers to the Four Pillars of Health that include:

Lifestyle – How You Live

Committing to better health for the long term requires a lifestyle shift to that of a ‘fit’ person…even if you don’t feel like your there yet. With me, you’ll get there with small, consistent habit changes that won’t overwhelm you or take over your life. We build this into YOUR life.

Exercise – How You Move

Our bodies are built to move. In today’s world, our bodies do much less moving than they should, so you have to start being intentional about it if you truly want to see an improvement. With me, you will start slowly and build from there so you don’t feel overwhelmed or injure yourself. You will learn to love your movement.

Attitude – How You Think

In my opinion, this is the most important pillar. You need to approach every day with a positive mindset. With me, you will learn that consistency is way more important than perfection.  You’ll feel ok about having an ice cream with your kids because you know you’ll be able to get back on track. You’ll feel a huge relief when you feel like you’re in control!

Nutrition – How You Eat

Many people try 5-10 or even more diets over the years.  Why don’t they work? They are prescribing diets with food restrictions or foods that aren’t enjoyable. Who wants to stick with that for the long term? With me, you will learn how to eat, when to eat and what to eat…based on your preferences.

If you’re ready to make a change, let me help! Improving your health and starting a running program doesn’t have to be overwhelming.  We can work together to make small, consistent changes that add up over time!
